Fly-Out Fishing Trips

Fly‑out fishing from Ketchikan into Misty Fjords National Monument is nothing short of magical—with a floatplane delivering you to remote alpine lakes and stream systems framed by glacier‑carved cliffs and cascading waterfalls. These pristine, nearly untouched waters offer anglers prime opportunities to hook cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden char, and the elusive Arctic grayling. Closer-in bays and nearby lakes tend to hold great numbers of cutthroat and Dolly Varden, while deeper in the wilderness—think loftier alpine lakes and rivers—the fish are larger and more trophy‑sized visit- Arctic grayling and Dolly Varden spike in numbers during spring and late summer, and cutthroat fishing lights up around May–June and September–October . With only a handful of visitors on many of these waters each year, it’s just you, a guide, and endless wilderness as you chase fish in one of Alaska’s most serene settings.
