Dog Salmon Creek Bear Viewing Adventure

Come join us on a trip to the Dog Salmon Creek Bear Viewing Platform.

The flight is 15 to 20 minutes through the Tongass National Forest and across the Clarence Straights to Prince of Wales Island. As the 4th largest island in the U.S. with a population of only 10,000 people it is full of pristine habitat for Usus Americanus, or the American Black Bear. On the flight you will pass by forming logging areas, old village sites, and a colony of Stellar Sea Lions. Your plane will land in Polk inlet and pull up to a USFS dock where your Professional Bear Guide will take over and escort you up to the viewing platform.

When you go on this adventure you should wear sturdy boots or shoes and bring rain gear. A camera with lots of memory is a must, and please turn off the camera's flash so as not to startle the bears. You may not take any food or drinks on the trail except water. And lastly, prepare yourself for a fun and wondrous experience in a true Alaskan wilderness.

Before you come please familiarize yourself with the US Forest Service's guidelines for safely viewing bears.

The entire adventure is about 4 and a half hours, this may be amended by special arrangement.
